This intensely dark, deep purple wine of Portuguese origin is characterized by prominent aspects of blackberry, plum, black currant, pomegranate, and cherry. Intertwined are hints of spice, cedar, leather, and olive. The dark fruit aromas are framed in a bouquet of vanilla, brown sugar, and toasted oak. Our Souzao possesses a rich and gripping, yet smooth and voluptuous presence on the palate, which is complemented by a multi-layered, long lasting finish. Pair with roast, game dishes, or (for those interested in lighter fare) try with Mediterranean style based dishes such as paella.
